Online doctor
In a busy everyday life, it can be difficult to find time to wait in a phone queue at the doctor and go to a doctor's appointment in the middle of the day. And if you are on holiday abroad, it can provide extra security if you have the opportunity to get advice and guidance from a Danish doctor if you or your child becomes ill. With Online Doctor, you have the option of receiving medical advice from a general practitioner via video, telephone or e-mail every weekday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Go to the doctor when you have time
At Online Doctor, you get an appointment with a general practitioner who can help you with many of the same things that your own doctor can. The online consultation gives you the opportunity to see a doctor when it suits you – day, evening, weekend and on holidays. There is no transport time, and you can be at home, at work, in a holiday home or on holiday.
Online doctor can, among other things:
- Provide you with medical advice and treatment via telephone and video
- Respond to questions via email within 1 hour during business hours
- Issue and renew prescriptions
- Refer you to public hospitals for treatment
Online Doctor is provided by Hejdoktor, and access also applies to your possible spouse/cohabitant and children with the same national register address.
A flexible alternative
Online Doctor cannot replace your own doctor, but it is a flexible and time-saving alternative if, for example, you need advice or treatment that can be done online. You must contact your own doctor if, for example, the investigation requires a physical examination, or you need a prescription for addictive or strong painkillers. It is also important that your own doctor, for example, remains in charge of complicated treatment and knows your history. In the event of an acute life-threatening illness or injury, you must call 112 as usual.

You can easily get in touch with Online Doctor via your mobile or computer:
- Go to Hejdoktor.dk or download the app Hejdoktor in the App Store or Google Play
- Log in with your NemID
- Choose whether you want a consultation via telephone, video or e-mail
- If you choose a consultation via phone or video, you can decide for yourself whether you want to book an appointment or stand in line and get an appointment within approx. 5 minutes
- The doctor will call you
- The doctor sends any referral, prescription etc.
- You can register your children for your profile on Hejdoktor.dk and invite your spouse/cohabitant so that everyone in the family has access to online consultations etc.
Hejdoktor takes care of your data
Hejdoktor is responsible for your data and it will not be shared. All traffic on Hejdoktor is encrypted and complies with the requirements and regulations of the Danish Health Authority and the Danish Data Protection Authority regarding the storage of sensitive personal data and records. You have the option to opt out of your own doctor knowing that you have used Hejdoktor. However, your GP will be able to see any prescriptions and referrals.
