How to use your Health Insurance

  1. Contact your medical practitioner. Always, start by contacting your medical practitioner, who will evaluate your health condition, makes sure you receive the right treatment and provides you with a referral if needed.
    There is an exception if the health condition is with regard to chiropractic. In this case, it is not necessary to confer with your medical practitioner. Instead, you should call PFA directly.
  2. Contact PFA on phone no. +45 70 24 50 01When you have conferred with your medical practitioner, you should call PFA to get the treatment and referral verified. You will usually get the verification right away and PFA will send a confirmation letter, by either post or e-boks. The confirmation letter highlights how you continue with the next step of the treatment.
  3. Start your treatment. PFA usually assigns you to a treatment center within its quality-controlled network. Expenses are usually included in the assigned treatment center, making sure that you do not have to pay anything for your treatment.
    NEW: With the new pension agreement, you no longer have to use a practitioner from PFA’s network. In some cases, you can choose a practitioner more freely when using your health insurance. The choice of the practitioner has to be made in agreement with PFA.
