Work-related injury

Work-related injury

When working at Deloitte, you are covered by workers' compensation insurance. Please read below on how to report a work-related injury and how you are covered.

The workers’ compensation insurance is taken out at Codan. You – or your leader – should contact HR & Talent via Nordic Support at Deloitte to report a work-related injury or accident at work.

If an accident happens at work, and you are unfit for work by more than a day after the accident has happened, the accident should be reported to the Danish Working Environment Authority that will take care of the further reporting to Codan. HR & Talent will help you in this situation.

As far as possible, accidents at work should be reported to the Danish Working Environment Authority within nine days after the first day of absence.

For purposes of getting workers’ compensation, it is necessary that you be checked by a doctor who will assess the extent of the accident.

HR & Talent will need the following information from you; i.e. you can either email us or ask us to call you:

  • Place and time of the accident
  • The nature of the injury and the body part that has been injured
  • Description of the accident (if not reported by a doctor/emergency room)
  • Way of injury, e.g. “fall” and associated technology, for instance, wire

Furthermore, we will need a copy of the medical report from the doctor/emergency room.

If relevant, please also inform us of any witnesses to the accident.

The workers’ compensation insurance at Codan covers medical costs and compensation for permanent injury, among other things. If you have a personal accident insurance policy, please also remember to report the injury to the insurance company holding this policy.
